The Technician, General Maintenance performs the necessary building maintenance tasks to support the upkeep of the site by ensuring repairs are completed in a GMP compliant and cost effective manner under minimal supervision.
- Perform various tasks related to building maintenance (replace light bulbs in non-GMP area, minor repairs to walls, doors & windows, locksmithing, minor domestic plumbing, painting and minor electrical repairs, etc.)
- Perform all necessary minor repairs requested as well as all other manual tasks.
- Plan, execute and oversee minor construction jobs in houseby following GMP and safety regulations.
- Complete daily rounds of the site and repair or report any deficiencies to Management.
- Assist in escorting and overseeing the work of specialized general maintenance subcontractors.
- Convert all general maintenance Notification to Workorder in SAP, accurately complete all work orders and documentation, update SAP transactions by confirming work completed and submit to Supervisor/Manager, Facility Support Service on a daily basis.
- Prepare weekly report on completed and open WOs and maintain communication with all areas of business to schedule upcoming maintenance work with minimal or no interruption to business.
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks as needed and complete the necessary documentation.
- Maintain minimal stock of maintenance supplies to perform required tasks within given timeline.
- Continually develop skills and progress to increasingly more complex maintenance tasks.Consistently demonstrate an appropriate response to customer requests in a manner that meets customer’s needs. Establish and maintain clear, open, cordial lines of communication with customers, consultants and Apotex team members to project a “customer service” operational environment.
- Ensure that any delays or deviations from specified work are clearly communicated in a timely manner to customers and other appropriate Apotex team members.
- Ensure that contractors and tradesmen provide quality of work to meet all Apotex standards and regulatory requirements.
- Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

- Education
- Possess a high school diploma.
- Ontario Ministry of Labour licensing in an applicable discipline (carpentry, plumber, etc.) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Proven ability towork as self-starter and handle multiple tasks.
- Experience in general building maintenance
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with SAP preferred.
- Be able to read blueprints, sketches and specifications in order to repair, maintain or install to meet requirements.
- Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience of facility maintenance, repair and construction work in food and pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

The hiring range for this position is $55,138.14- 77,193.40 CAD per year. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are looking for top talent. If your qualifications differ from those listed above, the scope of work and final agreed-upon salary may be adjusted to reflect your individual qualifications.
