What the day will look likeCollaborate with the team on various projects, such as:
- Analysis and negotiation of annual renewals
- Analysis and cost projections following carrier marketings
- Experience monitoring, including analysis of claim costs, trends and client relevant critical metrics
- Ad-hoc design costings and full redesign projects
- Prepare and/or review client ready material
- Provide technical expertise for client teams and analysts regarding the work being completed
- Provide advanced analysis, insights and recommendations for client teams as well as other team members
- Review client communication material, from a technical standpoint, following renewals, marketings, new plan implementations, redesigns or for union meeting purposes
- Support ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business divisions to support client facing colleagues
- Support the team in terms of project management to ensure timely delivery
- Attend client meetings in support of the client teams, as required
- Coordinate projects with analysts, multiple operational areas and carriers
- Increase efficiency by identifying ways to improve standardized processes and add new value to client deliverables
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, account units, and carriers
- Act as a role model, ensuring adherence to internal tools, quality, technical, professional and ethical standards
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the group benefits industry, systems, products, trends and emerging technology, to support a thorough understanding of how this relates to increasing value to clients
- Participate in team projects and activities which drive innovation, improved client value and business results
Within an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients. You will deliver innovative and effective solutions as part of our Health Solutions business group within Aon.
As a Senior Consultant in our Broking and Financial Management group, you will provide assistance to client teams and help service clients on the financial management of their benefit programs. Collaborating with analysts and senior leaders, you will support a range of client results. These cover annual renewals, carrier marketings, experience reporting and analysis, budget preparation, financial document review, union negotiations, pricing, and plan redesigns.
Skills and experience that will lead to success- Eight (8)+ years of direct group benefits experience in consulting or underwriting environment is required;
- Must have and maintain a valid group insurance license – multi-jurisdictional is an asset;
- French / English bilingualism is required due to the frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for complex client/business issues;
- Proven organization skills and capacity to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services;
- Experienced in leading projects and client team members;
- Strong technical expertise and established experience in keeping current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;
- Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
- Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
- University or College graduate in Financial Services, Mathematics, Actuarial science, or related field, or equivalent years of industry experience
- Completed Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) would be an asset
