Aon Is Looking For a Broker, Financial Services Group (Toronto, Canada)

 

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Financial Services Group (FSG) within Aon. As a Broker, you will report directly to the Team Leader Financial Services Group.

 

This position is subject to Aon's Smart Working policy, which may offer a hybrid work style, combining remote and in-office work to enhance flexibility and productivity.

What the day will look like

 

  • Analyzes client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements
  • Prepares and presents marketing proposals for renewals and new business
  • Negotiates with underwriters to establish best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage
  • Follows up with insurer to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met
  • Approves documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals
  • Establishes contacts and cultivates relationships within the underwriting community in an effort to achieve the best premiums and coverage for Aon clients
  • Participates in client and prospect meetings
  • Collaborates with clients to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business
  • Collaborates with sales producers to support growth strategies and specific prospecting activities
  • Builds productive working relationships with peers and higher level professionals internally and externally to exchange information and make recommendations
  • Performs other related duties as required


How this opportunity is different


In this position, you will play a crucial role in developing, negotiating, and overseeing all facets of Executive Risk coverage. This includes the review and placement of various insurance types such as Directors and Officers Liability, Fiduciary (Pension Plan) Liability, Employment Practices Liability, and Crime Insurance.

 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

 

  • A solid background and knowledge in insurance are highly advantageous.
  • Education in finance or law is a significant asset.
  • Possession of a broker license is beneficial, or a willingness to obtain one within three months of employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and make an impact on both clients and insurance companies.
