JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Associate General Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, assigning, inspecting, developing, and directing the day to day functions of Housekeeping department ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the residence. Manages and oversees Housekeepers.
KEY DUTIES
- Direct and assign duties to housekeepers to ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout the community.
- Establish and maintain cleaning schedule for suites and common areas (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
- Maintain residence enhanced cleaning schedules and sanitization
- Order housekeeping supplies and equipment in consultation with Associate General Manager, take periodic inventories.
- Oversees new hire orientation for department. Train new and current Team Members.
- Maintain established Department policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control and promote a high standard of quality work and Resident satisfaction.
- Monitor and inspect the work performed by housekeeping team members and provide timely feedback.
- Organize housekeeping support for move-ins and move-outs ensuring suites are cleaned in a timely manner.
- Provide coverage or assistance during team member absences.
- Respond timely to residents/team members calls and diligently seek to resolve problems as they arise.
- Assist with cleaning common areas and suites and support carpet cleaning and laundry operations as needed.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and monthly departmental meetings.
- Oversee deep cleaning and carpet cleaning programs in common areas and suites, ensuring high-quality results.
- Conduct monthly Housekeeping Quality Assurance Audits (QAA).
- Lead, coach, and provide guidance on discipline in consultation with Associate General Manager.
- Ensure Daily and weekly inspections of suites and common areas are completed and signed off.
- Responsible for safety of team members and proper handling procedures of chemicals.
- Keeps the Associate General Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Ensures that the work environment is safe and healthy. Ensures that own work is carried out in accordance with applicable environmental, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures and all other legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the work.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the duties outlined above as assigned or in support of community operations as assigned.
