The Unit Clerk- Okotoks Urgent Care works as a member of the health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of the patients, families & community. The UC is responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients, and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts electronically, as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit. The Unit Clerk for Okotoks Urgent Care requires the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and sustaining posture within a fast paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 50lbs. The successful incumbent will demonstrate AHS’s values when working at Okotoks Urgent Care.

As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

1-2 years of Urgent Care or Emergency department experience.

Demonstrated practice that is patient/ family centered. Demonstrated flexibility, self-motivation, organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
