Speech Language Pathologist III

An exciting leadership opportunity exists within Central Corridor for a Speech Language Pathologist III - Clinical Lead, based out of Red Deer Regional Hospital. This role provides clinical and in-scope leadership for Speech Language Pathology services at Red Deer Regional Hospital and for several rural Central Corridor Sites, supporting high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Operations: Support the Allied Health Area Manager with day-to-day operations. Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to frontline staff. Foster a collaborative, accountable team environment. Assist with service planning, workflow optimization, and resource allocation. Clinical Practice: Maintain a clinical caseload managing adult patients with swallowing and communication disorders. Provide outpatient SLP services at Red Deer Regional Hospital. Clinical coverage at both RDRHC and Rural Sites in Acute Care and LTC as needed. Apply advanced clinical judgment and evidence-informed practice. Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Coordinate care to ensure efficient, effective patient outcomes. As a Speech Language Pathologist III, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral leader to other healthcare professionals (Speech Language Pathologists, Assistants). You will facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of clinical standards of practice for speech-language pathology and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area. In collaboration with management, you will support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department's operational plan strategies.

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Proficiency in assessment and treatment of adult clients experiencing swallowing and communication difficulties.
