Description
This is an exciting leadership opportunity with the Community Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Service (CRIS) program in Allied Health Community (AHC)- Edmonton Zone. The CRIS Program provides services to adults living in the community with complex rehabilitation needs across three sites in the Edmonton Zone (Mother Rosalie Health Services Centre, Kaye Edmonton Clinic and Strathcona County Community Hospital). Reporting to the Manager, AHC, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible and accountable for: planning/implementation/evaluation of clinical and clerical services for interdisciplinary team practices at CRIS ; providing strong clinical leadership and support to a multidisciplinary team; maintaining strong communication links with Allied Health Management and clinical leaders; supporting staff in the provision of evidence-informed practice and alignment with organizational and departmental mission, vision, and values; identifying, reporting and supporting the implementation of corrective actions for concerns identified related to patient and/or staff safety and the provision of direct client care services. The Clinical Supervisor develops and maintains strong working relations with key internal and external stakeholders in order to provide leadership and support to the Community Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Service program. The successful candidate will work closely with the CRIS leadership team to support staff in the provision of seamless, high quality and sustainable patient care.
As a Speech Language Pathologist III, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral leader to other healthcare professionals (Speech Language Pathologists, Assistants). You will facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of clinical standards of practice for speech-language pathology and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area. In collaboration with management, you will support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department's operational plan strategies.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Applicants from Allied Health disciplines-such as Speech-Language Pathology, Physiotherapy, or Occupational Therapy-are welcome to apply if they possess equivalent education and experience. A minimum of five years’ experience as a rehabilitation clinician providing services to adults in community settings is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate in-depth clinical knowledge and discipline-specific skills in adult rehabilitation. Training and experience in Health Change Methodology™, Connect Care EMR charting and reporting, and a proven track record of clinical leadership are essential. Candidates must be adaptable and able to work independently in a dynamic, evolving environment, using strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, along with strong assessment, organizational, counseling, and interpersonal abilities. The ability to build collegial and therapeutic relationships, navigate sensitive situations, and give and receive constructive feedback is essential. A strong customer service focus and the ability to support diverse stakeholders is expected. Proficiency in virtual health platforms, word processing, email, and EMR systems is required, along with a sound understanding of community rehabilitation and the social determinants of health.
This role involves medium physical effort (20-50 lbs.)- equipment transfer, including bending, lifting, pulling, for assisting client transfers or therapeutic interventions. Prolonged sitting with laptop and associated technology like headset is expected for point of care charting and virtual services.
