Description
At the Glenrose Social Work Department, we actively contribute to an inclusive and respectful workplace that builds community within our team, hospital, and neighborhood. Reporting to the Manager of Social Work, the Social Work Team Lead/Clinical Lead (SW TL) position is open to professional members of allied health eligible professions including Social Work, Psychology, and Speech-Language Pathology. The SW TL is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, supervision, and coordination of staff, programs, and services within an assigned area. The TL supports Social Workers to provide high quality and safe care by understanding and applying relevant standards, legislation, policy, ethics, and guidelines. The TL advises the manager in daily operational decision-making, coordinates orientation and professional development, and provides input regarding staff and team performance. The TL participates in direct patient care, quality improvement, and supports the team with meeting documentation and activity capture expectations. The TL works in partnership with multidisciplinary teams across the site, plans and/or provides coverage as needed, leads meetings, and is responsible for supporting the department with student practicums. The successful candidate strives for excellence in professional practice using self-reflection, integrates evidence-based practice with practice-based evidence, thinks critically, acts in alignment with Social Work values, and is continuously learning and innovating on how to maximize dignity-based care.
As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).
Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Master’s degree and experience supervising practicum students in the humanities. Competency in Social Work AHS Core Clinical Activities, approaches, and theories. Ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues in a professional manner aligned with SW ethics and standards. Evidence of training and experience related to advanced practice and provision of clinical supervision. Extensive knowledge of collaborative practice and delivery of interdisciplinary care. High degree of professional integrity, resourcefulness, and independent judgement. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Demonstrated ability in leading teams, providing oversight, teaching, and the ability to facilitate practice growth in others. Strong communication and organizational skills.
MSW degree and active registration with the ACSW. 5+ years of operational leadership experience in humanities. 5+ years of relevant clinical experience. Ability to foster collaborative relationships and partnerships. Competency in Connect Care usage and activity capture.
