Description
This position holds a high degree of independence to lead, facilitate, develop, and implement, evaluate projects or program initiatives and to coordinate government reporting on a range initiatives within the Southeast Corridor. The program initiatives across the Southeast Corridor will require leadership experience with quality improvement, change improvement and business methodologies. This position will coordinate the initiatives with multiple stakeholders including, but not limited to, community agencies, municipalities, patient and family representatives and Indigenous partners.
The Senior Project Manager assesses requirements, identifies solutions to complex issues and requests, follows evidence-informed methodologies, and ensures Alberta Health Services (AHS) values, goals and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of services to client groups. The Senior Project Manager provides project management, change management, quality improvement, and leadership expertise for the term of a project to a team of professionals (i.e., internal or external technical and content experts and/or consultants) assigned to support a project. The Senior Project Manager is also responsible for: Providing direction, facilitation, and coordinated support and management to comprehensive zone projects that map across the Zone, service areas, and the tiers of the continuum of care. Managing organizational infrastructure required to achieve specific project deliverables, including establishing and overseeing implementation of strategic and business plans, budgets, and progress and grant reporting.
An undergraduate degree in social sciences, health profession, management and or business is required. A Master’s degree in Health, Business, Leadership, Policy or Social Sciences. Certification/education in: Quality improvement. Change management. Project management.
A minimum of five years’ experience in leadership/management in a complex health care setting or an organization of significant size. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Specialized expertise in planning methodologies, including quality improvement, project management and change management. Coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Experience managing physical and human resources and related financial information. Significant experience in problem solving, risk mitigation, concerns resolution, conflict resolution and negotiation. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with leading a team, making decisions, coaching and teaching, and inspiring and building confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to engage and foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to develop, facilitate and deliver education to transfer knowledge. Experience in facilitating research, reviews and analysis, evaluations, and formal report development. Demonstrated ability to facilitate significant change.
Extensive knowledge of clinical areas, groups and professions and the processes that support changing clinical practice/processes. A solid understanding of strategic and integrated service planning and ability to support others in the development of such plans to support AHS' mission, goals, and values.
