In this community role you will have the opportunity to serve the communities of Drumheller, Hanna and Three Hills. Drumheller offers a great community feel with spectacular scenery and interesting things to do. Home to the Tyrell Museum and nestled in the Canadian badlands host a myriad of recreational activities including: The Aquaplex, with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, steam room, etc, the Memorial Arena where you can take skating lessons or take in a game of hockey, and the Badlands Community Facility; a modern banquet hall which houses a state-of-the art fitness and recreation centre as well as vibrant and create arts and culture venues. The town of Hanna is located in east central Alberta, located about 130 miles northeast of Calgary and is a bustling little town with a healthy economy in ranching, farming, oilfield, mining and power generation. Hanna boasts a full range of cultural and recreational activities and facilities including an Arena for hockey and curling, Ball Diamonds, Swimming Pool and Slides, Fitness Centre, Golf Course, Soccer Fields and many parks and green space. Three Hills is a small but progressive town located 160 km southeast of Red Deer in central Alberta, taking its name from the three highly visible hills that are situated to the north. The Three Hills Health Centre has ER, Acute, Obstetrics, Continuing Care and Rehabilitation departments, along with Public and Community Health and Mental Health. Three Hills is the perfect place for the car enthusiast and hosts a Cruise Weekend every June with a Show and Shine and Drag Racing.
As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.
Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Heart & Stroke: Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
