Coronation Hospital and Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN). In this role, you will work as a team lead within a multidisciplinary team to provide client & family focused care in Long Term Care. In this role, the RN must have the ability to use critical thinking skills to plan, assess, implement & evaluate client centered care. Your exceptional communication skills are a must as well as your ability to develop & maintain effective interpersonal relationships. You must be able to work independently, providing continuity & leadership, including direction, supervision, mentoring, constructive feedback & client care coordination to other professionals & unregulated staff. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest & skills in providing care to the elderly client, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias. Recent gerontology nursing experience and/or education, Charge Nurse, and leadership training is an asset. Training & professional development opportunities are available to successful candidates. The Town of Coronation is in the heart of east central Alberta, 270 km from Edmonton & 300 km from Calgary. Coronation has a population of ~1000 but serves a larger area in the County of Paintearth. Coronation is a sports minded town with active programs in hockey, baseball, softball, Adult Group Fitness including a fitness centre, swimming lessons & Aquacises offered at the local rec facilities. Coronation School serves grades K-12.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Certification in a relevant specialty area, charge nurse experience, past leadership training/experience are an asset.
