There is an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the team at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre in the Emergency Room. You will also have the opportunity to be cross trained for acute care, day surgery, pre- and post-endoscopy, and clinics. Your excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills will be used daily. You will have the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient. Collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families. You will demonstrate current nursing knowledge, efficient communication, and leadership skills. You will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients and families in a diverse population. Cold Lake is situated on the traditional lands of Treaty 6 and those of the Métis, Cold Lake offers an excellent quality of life for all ages. With schools, English, French, elementary to college, and groups for all interests: the arts, culture, sports, volunteering, and social groups. This community has a myriad of celebrations throughout the year for the family to take part in. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

You must have 2 of the last 5 years practicing as a front-line Registered Nurse on a medical/surgical unit or emergency/critical care unit.

2 of the last 5 years working in an Emergency department or critical care preferred. Experienced with IV initiation and management. Certification in the following courses is preferred: Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS). Current Trauma Nursing Course (TNCC). Advanced Studies in Critical Nursing (ACCN). Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
