Registered Nurse

You will have the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient. You will demonstrate current nursing knowledge, efficient communication, and leadership skills. You will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients and families in a diverse population. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. You must have 2 of the last 5 years practicing as a front-line Registered Nurse on a medical/surgical unit or emergency/critical care unit.

2 of the last 5 years working in an Emergency department or critical care preferred. Experienced with IV initiation and management. Certification in the following courses is preferred: Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS). Current Trauma Nursing Course (TNCC). Advanced Studies in Critical Nursing (ACCN). Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
