Description
As members of the Nursing team, Registered Nurses (RNs) are responsible and accountable for the safe quality care of clients. RNs assess, coordinate, and participate in total Nursing care for patients; supervise in accordance with CRNA Nursing practice standards and provide leadership, direction, and encouragement to staff. The primary area of responsibility will be Continuing Care. Vegreville is a 60-bed unit within the health care facility. Vegreville, located 102 km east of Edmonton, has a population of 6,000 and offers a complete range of services. Vegreville also has a friendly small-town atmosphere and is an attractive place to raise a family. Vegreville is an active community with excellent amenities for all ages and lifestyles.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
A minimum of one (1) year of Charge Nurse experience in the past 5 years. Minimum of one year Continuing Care Registered Nursing experience in the past 5 years. Experience with Connect Care, and general computer skills are preferred. CTAS and ACLS are preferred.
