The South Health Campus (SHC) has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars are guiding the development and delivery of service of to all patients and families at SHC. The successful candidate will work as a member of the South Health Campus Emergency Department Team. Collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families. They will provide leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, preventing illness, injury and disability or supporting a peaceful death. They will provide care throughout the life span, in all stages of health and complexities of illness. The successful candidate will be accountable to the public for his/her own practice, responsible for ensuring that their practice meets legislative requirements and the practice standards of the College of Registered Nurses Alberta (CRNA).

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Previous Emergency Department experience within past 3 years or at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience on an inpatient medical/surgical floor, within the last 3 years. Must be proficient with computer systems. Resume with description of previous experience. Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50ibs, long periods of walking and standing.

Current Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Current Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Current Certification in Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC). Current Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Current Certification in Emergency Practice Interventions and Care (EPIC). Graduate from Advanced Critical Care Nursing (ACCN) in Emergency.
