The Grande Prairie Cancer Centre Radiation Therapy department is looking for a highly motivated Radiation Therapist II (RTII) to join our patient-focused and collaborative radiation therapy team. Reporting to the RT Manager, the RTII will join an amazing group of dedicated professionals and help lead this team as we grow and develop this new department. As the RTII, the successful applicant will be responsible for not only clinical simulation and treatment but also delegation of workload for the RTI's, ensuring the team delivers accurate and precise treatment, quality assurance is carried out, and collaborate with the RT Manager to ensure policies and procedures are maintained and assist with change management as required. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Radiation Therapist II, you will be responsible for the organization and quality of work within your assigned Radiation Oncology Department. You will be responsible for the supervision of Radiation Therapist I's, coaching staff and students, and orientating new staff. You will ensure your team of therapists deliver accurate and precise treatment as well as ensuring Quality Assurance procedures are carried out. You will monitor the performance of equipment/machines and document and report any problems.

Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologies (ACMDTT)

Minimum of 2 years' work experience as an RTI. Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be able to perform all duties of the job including lifting and moving. Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as work effectively as part of a team. As this is a fast-paced environment, the applicant must be able to excel under pressure, prioritize organization and maintain a positive working relationship with staff and patients alike.

Experience using Varian Radiation Therapy Equipment and Software. Connect Care experience. Previous or current experience leading teams.
