Radiation Therapist II

Cancer Care Alberta is currently looking for a Radiation Therapist II to join our team at the new Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (AC) in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager of Radiation Therapy you will join a dedicated and collaborative, interdisciplinary team that includes Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Allied Health, Nursing, Administrative professionals. You will work with innovative treatment technologies and diagnostic equipment that include but will not be limited to CT and MRI simulators, adaptive RT utilizing MR Lina technology, external beam radiation with Varian Linacs, MRI guided brachy therapy, a provincial TBI program and much more. As a Radiation Therapist II, you will be responsible for the organization and quality of work within your assigned Radiation Oncology Department. You will be responsible for the supervision of Radiation Therapist I's, coaching staff and students, and orientating new staff. You will ensure your team of therapists deliver accurate and precise treatment as well as ensuring Quality Assurance procedures are carried out. You will monitor the performance of equipment/machines and document and report any problems.

Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Radiation Therapist. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Must be able to perform all physical duties of the position including lifting and moving for extended periods of time. Basic Life Support (BLS).
