Cancer Care Alberta is currently looking for full-time Radiation Therapists to join our team at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. As a Radiation Therapist I, you will join a dedicated and collaborative interdisciplinary team including pre-treatment and treatment delivery radiation therapists, brachytherapists, dosimetrists, oncologists, medical physicists, allied health, nursing and administrative professionals. Radiation Therapists at the Cross Cancer Institute have the opportunity to work with innovative treatment technologies and equipment including CT/MR simulators, MR Linac, external beam radiation with Varian True Beam Linacs, Edge Linear Accelerators, Gamma Knife and MRI guided brachytherapy. Dosimetry specialization opportunities are also offered. As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.

Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Must be able to perform all physical duties of the position including significant periods of standing and walking, lifting and moving patient devices, patient handling (boosting, rolling, repositioning) including 2-3-4-person assisted patient transfers to/from wheelchairs and stretchers and transporting patients on stretchers and wheelchairs. Health Care Provider - Basic Life Support (HCP-BLS) certification required annually.
