This Procurement Specialist III position within Acute Care Alberta (ACA) Contracting and Commissioning division and will be responsible and accountable for coordinating multi- source contracts and involved with competitive bidding processes for acute care services in accordance with ACA standards and practices, trade agreements and related legislation. As a Procurement Specialist III, you will demonstrate your excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff at various levels and external vendors as it relates to acute care services, procurement and contracts. In this role, you will prepare contract documents, assist with contract implementations, and manage contracts in compliance with ACA procurement processes, policies, and guidelines that create value and mitigate risk to ACA. You may also participate in all activities related to the competitive bidding process including RFx evaluations. Work at this level is differentiated from that of the Procurement Specialist II by the increased level of responsibility for contract development and management, the level of interaction with stakeholders and the development and execution of sourcing strategies. This position will be part of Acute Care Alberta effective April 1, 2025. As a Procurement Specialist III, you will showcase your excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and external vendors. You will develop new contracts and contract amendments that create value and mitigate risk to AHS. You will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to the competitive bidding process including RFx evaluations preparing contract documents, assisting with contract implementations and managing contracts within their assigned categories in compliance with AHS procurement processes, policies and guidelines.

Completion of post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Management.

A minimum of two years relevant procurement work experience in a business or allied health/clinical service provision field. Business training in core disciplines combined with supplementary courses (e.g. supply chain, economics, process efficiencies/Lean), contract law, financial analysis, project management, and competitive bidding processes & flexible sourcing strategies). Experience in project coordination, commercial business dealings, contracting, contract management, and both quantitative and qualitative analytics, with exposure to work-group leadership. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, applying sound business judgment. Strong problem-solving skills and business negotiation skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct. Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.

Specific operational experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Healthcare and supply chain experience is an asset.
