Physician Assistant - OBGYN

South Health Campus (SHC) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The PA will function as an integral member of the clinical team, working under the supervision of attending physicians to provide comprehensive care across obstetric and gynecologic services. This position will dovetail with existing Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as a Nurse Practitioner and Associate Physician, to support direct patient care within a smaller clinical setting that values a cohesive, collaborative, and team-based approach. The role will include both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with duties aligned to site-specific clinical needs at SHC. Clinical Care Assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients in obstetrics and gynecology under physician supervision Support care in labour and delivery, obstetrical triage, inpatient units, and ambulatory clinics. Surgical & Procedural Support Provide first and second assist in the operating room for obstetric and gynecologic procedures including cesarean delivery and gynecologic surgery. Inpatient & Continuity of Care. Participate in rounds, admissions, discharges, and care coordination

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Eligible for CAPA certification and Alberta licensure.

Demonstrate skills. Competency in women’s health history and physical examination. Excellent communication skills. Family centered, trauma-informed and collaborative approach to care. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to learn and perform basic technical procedures in women’s health (including but not limited to speculum exam, bimanual exam, endometrial biopsy, cervical biopsy, Pap smear).
