You will perform duties related to medication distribution activities, including sterile and nonsterile compounding. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to checking and dispensing patient specific medications including medication orders prepared by pharmacy assistants and/or pharmacy technicians. Physical requirements include visual acuity, keyboarding, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and extended standing and walking. This role also involves handling hazardous or allergenic medications using appropriate PPE.

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Current, provisional, or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered, please attach a resume and cover letter with your application. Physical demands of the role include regular lifting of up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., as well as frequent pushing and pulling, and standing or sitting for extended periods.

Membership in a Pharmacy Technician association (e.g., PTSA, CAPT, CSHP) is preferred. Applicants should have recent experience-a minimum of 1 year experience within the past 2 years-as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting, including sterile and nonsterile compounding, inventory procurement, and completing Best Possible Medication Histories (BPMH). Experience with Willow Pharmacy (Connect Care), Oracle, Pyxis or automated dispensing systems is an asset.
