Would you like to join our exceptional FMC pharmacy team? We’re looking for a passionate and collaborative pharmacist to become a key member of our multidisciplinary team, providing direct patient care with the Medical Teaching Unit (MTU). This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic teaching environment where your clinical expertise will directly impact patient outcomes. In addition to clinical responsibilities, you’ll contribute to drug distribution services (indirect patient care) and parenteral nutrition verification. You’ll also play a vital role in supporting drug information, education, and research, all while promoting evidence-based, person-centred care. Leadership and teaching opportunities abound-whether through precepting pharmacy residents, staff, and students, or contributing to site-based committees that shape practice and drive innovation. As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) is required for this role. Pharmacists in this position practice to their full scope, including but not limited to prescribing, ordering lab work, and discharge medication counseling. Applicants must have completed a residency and be clinically deployed with a minimum of two years of recent medicine or medical teaching unit (MTU) experience in a large, urban acute care hospital. Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter detailing their interest in the position and what they hope to gain from the role. The FMC Inpatient Pharmacy operates 24/7, applicants must be able to work all shifts.

Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary team and precepting is an asset. A strong ability to apply evidence-based medicine in direct patient care and a willingness to engage in ongoing learning would be beneficial in this role. We seek motivated, self-directed individuals committed to continuing competence. PN verification experience, project experience, and committee work will be considered. Active CSHP membership is also considered.
