Description
You would be responsible for 20+ Primary and Advance care Paramedics reporting directly to the operations supervisor. The successful applicant may oversee several more positions on a situational basis while at Hospitals, on events or during Major incidents. You would also be responsible for the individual sites operational budget through operations. Includes managing supplies and staffing models. They would have input on identifying future budget needs. The successful applicant will provide input in a consultative manner when requested to do so. Is the significant vector in the communication of Strategic plans due to the communication responsibility of the position. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
The Operations Supervisor performs a leadership role within Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Reporting directly to the EMS Manager, this position is responsible and accountable for providing daily direction, leadership and organization over the activities of EMS in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. This position is responsible and accountable for making front-line operational decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for the achievement of goals within EMS. The Operations Supervisor will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including other health professionals, first responders, fire rescue, and police agencies.
Graduate of a Paramedic program recognized by the Alberta College of Paramedics and currently registered in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics. Valid Alberta Class 4 Operators License with no more than 6 demerits. ICS 100.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an Emergency Service role with a minimum of two (2) years’ progressive leadership experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
Diploma or degree in healthcare administration, business, or leadership. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality emergency medical services. Ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals ideally within a unionized environment. Demonstrated ability in conflict and crisis management.
