Description
Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity to join the Pediatric Rehabilitation team at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. The Glenrose provides specialized rehabilitation to children and youth with complex presentations. Nurse Practitioners at the Glenrose are respected and highly valued for their contributions to continuity of care and are integral to the multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of safe, effective, quality family centered care.
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Demonstrated ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team. Self-directed with the ability to work in a patient, and family centered, multidisciplinary team environment. Demonstrated leadership ability with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong clinical skills and excellent critical thinking.
Experience of 3-5 years as a nurse, or NP, in pediatric acute care or rehabilitation setting. Connect Care experience preferred. Heart and Stroke Foundation PALS certification considered an asset.
