Are you a Nurse Practitioner (NP) looking to make a meaningful impact in adult patient care within a supportive, clinic-based environment? The Kipnes Urology Centre (KUC) at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic is recruiting its first Nurse Practitioner, offering a unique opportunity to help establish and grow NP practice in a high-volume ambulatory specialty clinic. This role supports adult patients with complex chronic and acute conditions, with a focus on urology and oncology. Working closely with physicians, pharmacists, and allied health professionals, the NP will play a key role in coordinating care, improving access, and supporting safe, timely clinical decision-making. The NP scope of practice includes ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests; prescribing medications, and diagnostic imaging agents; recommending medical devices and therapies; and performing clinical procedures and interventions as appropriate. The role also contributes to the development of care pathways and practice improvements that enhance patient outcomes and quality of life. As the first NP at KUC, you will not be practicing in isolation. Structured onboarding, physician mentorship, and leadership support are in place. New NP graduates are encouraged to apply, and comprehensive orientation and training will be provided. Experience in adult care, urology, or oncology is an asset but not required.

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. PLEASE NOTE: This position is unionized and represented by the Alberta Union of Nurse Practitioners (AUNP). For more information on this union, please contact AUNP: https://www.aunp.ca/

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Minimum of three (3) years of recent adult clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care, specialty, or complex ambulatory settings. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice. Strong communication, organizational, and systems-thinking skills. Demonstrated critical thinking and clinical judgment, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supported by appropriate mentorship and escalation pathways. Proven time management, leadership, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to build effective working relationships across the continuum of care.

Experience as a Nurse Practitioner in adult care, including chronic disease management, oncology, urology, or internal medicine. Experience working in ambulatory care and multidisciplinary team environments. Completion of relevant certifications or coursework in specialty practice areas. Familiarity with Alberta’s electronic health systems, including Connect Care and Netcare.
