Nurse Clinician

An exciting opportunity to grow and enhance leadership skills within our Nephrology and Transplant team on a 45-bed acute care unit at the Foothills Medical Center. We are looking for an experienced nurse leader who is team orientated and passionate about providing patient and family centered care. We are looking for an individual who is resilient, works well under pressure and has the ability to develop the potential in others. As a Nurse Clinician (NC), you will be responsible for the coordination of an interprofessional team, in the provision of quality patient (client, resident) care in order to meet the operational priorities and requirements within a clinical setting. You will use an integrative leadership approach in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating care needs, while assuming responsibility for staff assignments, patient flow and clinical resources. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Recent acute care charge nurse or nurse clinician experience within the last two years. At least 3 years experience in acute Nephrology, Transplant, and peritoneal dialysis. Peritoneal dialysis trained. Solid organ transplant trained. Leading Rapid Rounds. Mentoring staff. Responsibilities include: resource nurse and provide direct patient care.

It's Your Move (IYM) Trainer. Specialized competencies: nasal bridles, stat seal, etc. Experience managing and leading team in emergency situations.
