The Children's Mental Health therapist works as part of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical consultation, case management, and education. The position is also an asset in referral services, applying professional practice standards in the provision of quality care and service - for the client and their families. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS/RA has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. The position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Minimum of 2 years' experience, working in a multidisciplinary mental health team. Experience in working with youth/families, with addiction and/or mental illness. Experience in systems-based therapy with families.

Valid driver's license. Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification. Basic Life Support.
