We are looking for an experienced mental health professional to join our Drumheller Hub Child & Youth Health Services team! The ideal candidate will have a completed and valid license under the Health Professions Act, be knowledgeable and have significant experience working with children and families, be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, and be motivated to learn and develop their clinical skills within a team environment. This position contributes to the establishment and maintenance of the Mental Health resources in the community. The successful candidate will directly provide intensive supports and treatment to complex child and adolescent patients and families. This position will service both Drumheller and Hanna communities. Drumheller will be the home site. This position will alternate days between Drumheller and Hanna, with travel occurring on work time. Drumheller is a town northeast of Calgary, in Alberta, Canada. On the edge of town, in Midland Provincial Park, the Royal Tyrrell Museum contains a large collection of dinosaur fossils. Downtown, stairs wind inside the “World’s Largest Dinosaur,” a giant model T-Rex with views from its jaw. To the southeast, the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site explores the Drumheller Valley’s coal-mining heritage. Town of Drumheller: Official Municipal Website

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Certificates in play therapy, trauma therapy, experience working with community agencies such as Schools, CPS, and other stakeholders.
