Working in CT at South Health Campus offers a unique opportunity to develop a broad and highly marketable CT skill set in a modern, dynamic environment. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art CT scanners and supports a diverse and complex case mix, making it an ideal site for technologists who are new to CT as well as experienced MRTs seeking to expand or refine advanced competencies. Technologists at South Health Campus are exposed to a wide range of CT procedures, with opportunities to develop skills in advanced CT imaging, including CT cardiac and CT procedures. In addition, South Health Campus serves as the designated pediatric CT site for Southern Calgary, providing valuable pediatric imaging experience that distinguishes technologists trained at this site within the Calgary Zone. This position is responsible for providing the highest quality CT services to patients in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary environment and be required to work all shifts and on-call as assigned.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Member in good standing and current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Venipuncture certification. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgement and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable.

CT experience. ACMDTT Enhanced Practice Authorization in Medication Administration. Experience with Epic/Connect Care.
