Description
This MRT Technologist II position is responsible for leading, organizing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Cardston Health Centre General Radiography department including scheduling, staff development, quality assurance programs, patient satisfaction and equipment. The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision to support the department goals as they relate to the Alberta Health Services overall Mission, Vision, Goals, Philosophies and Policies. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dynamic leader who thrives on challenge and relishes the opportunity of leading. The position works closely with peers and other groups within the organization. Located in Cardston the Health Centre is an acute care facility that services a large area of southwestern Alberta. Located 40 mins from Waterton Cardston is a beautiful area that offers many outdoor activities.
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
MRT technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology and portables required. Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations required. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continued education. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, AHS staff and physicians.
Previous leadership experience an asset. Previous student liaison experience is preferred. Leadership courses, e-people/payroll experience, ordering experience is an asset.
