The Medical Radiation Technologist II position at ACH, operates in the specialized, highly technical environments of Computerized Tomography and Angiography. The MRT Technologist II, under limited supervision, assesses patients, analyzes and interprets diagnostic data, and provides information to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management. These services are performed in an effective efficient and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call as assigned.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

CAMRT Continuing Education courses (i.e. CT course 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent CT training course) for applicable specialty required within 3 years of hire. (CT course 1 registration to be started within 6 months of hire). CAMRT CTIC certificate preferred. CAMRT Continuing Education courses IR 1 & 2 course for applicable specialty required within 3 years of hire. (IR course 1 registration to be started within 6 months of hire). Minimum recent 1 year of Pediatric CT and Angio experience required. Must be able at times to work alone and be able to stand wearing Lead Aprons for an extended period of time.

CAMRT CTIC certificate preferred. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to effectively communicate in English.
