Reporting to the Program Manager, the Care Manager (CM) will provide direct clinical leadership to Addiction Recovery Centre (Adult). This role supports an interdisciplinary team of professionals. There is a strong focus on client centered care and the development and monitoring of staff. The CM role is part of a dynamic leadership team where inspired leadership and accountability is shared. The CM will ensure that services delivered by the teams meet the needs of the clients and families that we serve. The CM is the first point of contact for any concerns that may arise from service recipients or partners. While not responsible for the overall budget of the program, the CM is expected to have an awareness of expenditures and cost drivers that have an impact on the budget and to communicate this to the Program Manager/BAS. The CM will have signing authority required to facilitate daily operations. The CM will provide coaching and assist in the delivery of competency-based education maintaining client centered, concurrent capable framework. The CM will have the opportunity to recruit highly skilled and committed staff as well as oversee the daily operations of the teams. A working knowledge of the Collective Agreements (HSAA, UNA and AUPE) are required as is an ability to deal effectively with performance issues. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Strong leadership and critical thinking skills, demonstrated by the ability to direct other health care providers, problem solve and escalate clinical concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. A strong oral and written communication and demonstrated organizational skills. Commitment to client and family centered care and staff engagement. Demonstrated ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with clients, families and team members. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum of 2 years of front-line experience with demonstrated leadership competency. Demonstrated competency in leading self, engaging others, achieving results, building relationships/coalitions and championing system change. Master's degree in health services discipline (i.e., Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing BScN accepted; equivalent education/experience may be considered). Registration with professional association/college is required. Work and knowledge of the Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care). Experience with change management.

As required.

Previous health care management experience an asset, especially in Community Addiction and Mental Health Services. Knowledge and skills in clinical supervision an asset.
