Description
Located in the Heart of Alberta, the Town of Stettler is strategically positioned just 179 km southeast of Edmonton and 101 km east of Red Deer. As a regional hub, Stettler serves a primary trading area of over 11,000 residents, offering a diverse range of services and amenities. The community boasts a comprehensive selection of facilities, including an elementary/junior high school, a composite high school, a public library, twin arenas, an aquatic center, a performing arts theatre, and more. The surrounding area features several golf courses and is in close proximity to the scenic Buffalo Lake, enhancing the region’s recreational appeal. Stettler Hospital features a 26-bed Medical/Surgical Inpatient Unit, which includes one palliative care suite, two LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) suites, and two monitored close observation beds. The facility also houses an 8-bed Emergency Department and offers a robust Surgical and Endoscopy Program. Successful candidates joining the healthcare team will be expected to work across Acute Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Obstetrics. Comprehensive training and support are provided through the guidance of our Clinical Resource Nurse and Assistant Head Nurse, ensuring a smooth transition into the multidisciplinary care environment.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Greater than 6 months of Acute Care experience. Current certification in CAM A, CAM B, LEAD II, CTAS, and NRP. Completed / current Connect Care training in Rural Nurse, Therapy Plan, Day Surgery, Post Partum and Ambulatory Clinic as applicable to scope. Current required organizational learning.
Rural Emergency and Obstetrical experience an asset.
