Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Previous experience in a Home Care environment, preferably within a rural North Zone area. Demonstrated ability to provide safe, competent nursing care while collaborating with RNs and other team members. Ability to work independently across diverse settings, including client homes and clinic-based care environments. Comfortable traveling between client homes and clinic sites and driving in all weather and road conditions. Physically capable of performing all LPN nursing tasks in both Home Care and clinic settings, including the provision of direct hands on care.

Experience with Connect Care is considered an asset. Knowledge of Onoway and the surrounding area is preferred.
