Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, multi-modality environment. The LPN monitors, plans, implements and evaluates care of patients/clients and works in consultation with Physicians, RN, Technologists and others to meet the needs of more complex patients/clients. The LPN works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to monitor the patient’s conditions and care while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. LPN’s complete care within their scope of practice, in accordance with Alberta Health Services policy, the Health Professions Act and the License Practical Nurses Profession Regulation. This rotation will consist of Monday to Friday 0900-1715.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). IV Certification Required. Port Certification Required. 5 years Med/Surgical Unit experience required.
Emergency/ICU Experience preferred. Critical Care experience an asset.
