Licensed Practical Nurse

Rimbey Long Term Care is an 84 bed unit located in a rural setting where Licensed Practical Nurse work under the supervision of Registered Nurses within an interdisciplinary team environment to provide client and family centered care. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly client, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias. Rimbey enjoys the best of all worlds by maintaining its small town friendly lifestyle and still has access to three major cities: Red Deer, Calgary and Edmonton, about 2 - 3 hours from town. The community is nestled in the scenic Blindman River Valley amongst the rolling hills which border the Rocky Mountains.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Minimum 6 months of Seniors Health experience; dementia care.
