Description
This is a temporary assignment until March 25, 2027, or until the incumbent returns. Stettler is located in the Heart of Alberta, just 179 km southeast of Edmonton and 101 km east of Red Deer. It serves as a regional hub with a main trading area involving over 11,000 people. The town has a wide assortment of community facilities including an elementary/junior high school, a composite high school, a library, twin arenas, an aquatic Centre, a performing arts theatre, and much more. The area also has a few golf courses and is close to Buffalo Lake. Stettler Hospital boasts a twenty-six bed Medical / Surgical Inpatient Unit that includes one Palliative and two LDRP suites as well as two monitored close observation beds. Additionally, there is an eight bed Emergency Room and a Surgical / Endoscopy Program. Successful candidates will be required to work in Acute Care, Emergency Room, Operating Room, and Obstetrics. Full comprehensive training is provided with assistance of our Clinical Resource Nurse and Assistant Head Nurse.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Minimum six months experience in Rural Acute Care. Current certification in CAM A, CAM B, LEAD II, CTAS, and NRP.
Rural Emergency and Obstetrical experience an asset. Completed / Current Connect Care training in Rural Nurse, Therapy Plan, Day Surgery, Post Partum and Ambulatory Clinic as applicable to scope. Current Required Organizational Learning.
