Licensed Practical Nurse

Ponoka Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its dynamic OR/Endoscopy department. As a large rural hospital with two operating theaters performing endoscopies and C-sections, Ponoka offers a fast-paced and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be part of a growing surgical program aligned with the Alberta Surgical Initiative, providing pre-operative and post-operative care while ensuring patient safety and advocacy throughout the surgical experience. This role requires adherence to professional standards set by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA), the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC), and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
