The Elk Point Healthcare Centre has an opportunity for a passionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) dedicated to patient- and family-centered care. This role will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team in Long Term Care which is made of 30 beds. You will build meaningful relationships as you work with clients daily providing personal assistance and support services to those in your care. Superior interpersonal skills will be used daily as you work closely with clients, families, caregivers, and health professionals. You will help maintain a safe environment, observe and report on patients' health and well-being, and ensure effective communication. Your role includes direct client care demonstrating genuine interest and respect for clients and families in your care. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

1 year LPN experience in a long-term care/home care/acute care setting in the last 5 years.

Supportive Pathways or any dementia related courses. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Palliative Care. Nail Care.
