As an integral member of Health Link, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing health information to callers over the telephone throughout Alberta working collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary team. Health Link provides care and trusted advice, connecting people to the right care, by the right provider, at the right time and place. Using clinical software, and a variety of information databases you will provide health information to educate callers about their health concerns. Using your strong customer focus, clinical nursing, and problem-solving skills you will provide high quality and accurate health information in a contact center environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical practice setting with a minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in providing patient teaching and providing health information to a diverse population. Demonstrated competency with computer applications to complete computer searches and clinical documentation on web-based computer programs in a supported environment. The successful candidate must have a minimum typing speed 35 WPM and intermediate computer skills.

Experience providing patient teaching and health information over the phone or other platforms.
