Integrated Home Care (IHC) - Calgary Zone is a dynamic and expanding program committed to delivering high-quality, client-centered care. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Education Consultant II - Skin & Wound to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as both a clinical expert and a key educator within a multidisciplinary environment. As the Education Consultant II, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of care provided to clients by supporting the development and competency of multidisciplinary teams. You will provide expert consultation in skin and wound care, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational services for the IHC program, and collaborate with staff, management, and ARP physicians to support knowledge translation and clinical best practices. You will also liaise with key programs, clinics, and stakeholders to align educational initiatives with strategic goals and support Home Care initiatives through direct consultation and capacity-building efforts. The successful candidate will provide a leadership role within the Consult and Treat Team (CATT) and will demonstrate highly effective communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, while prioritizing and meeting competing demands, is essential. Strong group facilitation skills and a deep understanding of adult learning principles are required, along with a personal and professional commitment to ongoing development. Knowledge of and the ability to support change management processes is considered an asset.
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Minimum of 5 years of experience (within the last 5 years) in skin and wound care. Minimum of 3 years of experience (within the last 5 years) in Continuing Care or Community settings. Baccalaureate in Nursing is required. Academic and clinical preparation in wound management, including one or more of the following: University of Toronto’s International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course (IIWCC) Certification through the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) as a Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence [NSWOC WOCC(C)] Current Membership in a National or International Association related to Wound and/or Ostomy and/or Continence such as Wounds Canada or Wounds International. Teaching experience in a leadership role. Knowledge of and ability to support change management. Advanced Microsoft office skills (Power Point, Excel) with proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Teams.
Master’s in Wound Healing from Western University or Masters in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair from University of Cardiff.
