As Site Manager for Cold Lake, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to an interdisciplinary healthcare team dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Director, Edmonton Rural Corridor-East, you are accountable for site-wide operations and performance, with responsibility for Acute Care, the Emergency Department, Operating Room, and Medical Device Reprocessing. In this role, you will lead day-to-day clinical and staffing operations, oversee patient flow, conduct rounds, support discharge planning, and ensure effective interdisciplinary collaboration. You will establish and maintain a strong operational framework that supports quality, safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement, while managing budgets, risk, quality assurance, utilization, and change initiatives. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, foster staff development and engagement, and lead teams through system and service delivery improvements. Your leadership will reflect and advance the AHS vision, mission, and business plan while promoting a positive, innovative, and accountable culture. This position offers the opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative leadership team within the Edmonton Rural Corridor. We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and patient- and staff-focused leader with a strong interest in healthcare system improvement and innovation.
A post-secondary degree in a health profession, health administration, leadership, or a related field, with eligibility for registration with the applicable Alberta professional college and registration with an Alberta regulated health profession, as appropriate. Demonstrates a strong commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education and lifelong learning.
Demonstrated leadership capability in managing change and developing innovative solutions to complex, diverse challenges within a healthcare environment. Proven ability to effectively manage human, financial, and physical resources while operating in complex, unionized settings, with strong knowledge of collective agreements. Highly organized, client-focused, and committed to delivering quality, patient-centered services. An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, experienced in collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, and in building strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive situations, data, and personnel matters. A confident leader with demonstrated ability and comfort in decision-making, coaching, and teaching, who motivates, inspires, and builds confidence in others to achieve shared goals. Skilled at fostering relationships that enhance program effectiveness, support organizational short- and long-term objectives, and deliver customer-focused results-while contributing positively to a dynamic, high-performing healthcare team.
Proven coaching and mentorship skills that support team members in achieving their full potential. Experience in leadership roles within large, complex, and diverse organizations. Strong understanding of Rural Acute Care, Emergency, and Surgical Services, including the unique operational and clinical complexities of these environments. Proficient in computer systems, with Connect Care training and experience. Additional experience managing community-based programs and services.
