An exciting opportunity await you in Stettler. Located in the “Heart of Alberta”, just 179km southeast of Edmonton and 101km east of Red Deer. It serves as a regional hub with a main trading area involving over 11, 000 people. The town has a wide assortment of community facilities including an elementary/junior high school, a composite high school, a library, twin arenas, an aquatic centre, a performing arts theatre, and much more. The area also has a few golf courses and is close to Buffalo Lake. As a successful Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a team as well as working individually in a self-motivated environment that is always changing. Adhering to the provided care plan that has been established in collaboration with the client, family and members of the interdisciplinary team will support you in your every changing environment. Expanding your knowledge as a HCA is important, which means participating in education and local home care office initiatives. You have an opportunity to contribute as part of the interdisciplinary team; demonstrating excellent creativity and resourcefulness with the ability to think on your feet with little direction. You will need to have great time management and organization abilities in order to balance different priorities at once. Being able to provide friendly and sincere emotional support by being a good listener and interacting in a positive and optimistic manner is critical to ensuring patient centered care as a HCA.

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
