This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the growing Red Deer Electroneurophysiology (ENP) lab as our services increase in preparation for the Red Deer Regional Hospital expansion. The ENP Lab is home to all Central Zone EEG and EMG services, making it an integral healthcare resource for hundreds of thousands of patients from border to border. A small and streamlined team works in collaboration with the larger Red Deer Regional Hospital Neurosciences Programs so that inpatients and outpatients from the entire zone receive the tests they require. You will receive support from booking and triaging admins as well as the inpatient Neurology unit so that your days flow smoothly. As an EEG Technologist you will run all routine, sleep deprived, and other EEG tests in partnership with our incredible Neurologist team. In addition, you will have the opportunity as needed to assist Neurologists with a variety of EMG studies. Testing occurs both within the quiet confines of the ENP lab at the Red Deer Regional Hospital as well as at the patient bedside within the inpatient units and emergency departments.

As an Electroneurophysiology (EEG) Technologist, you will determine which ENP tests to perform based on clinical history, findings, and protocols. You will provide feedback to surgeons for early detection of intraoperative injury, allowing for immediate corrective measures and will resolve unusual or complex cases referred by the EEG Technologist I's or refers them to the appropriate individual(s) You will implement, maintain and assess approved quality control procedures. You will participate in the recruitment and selection of staff and coordinate the orientation of new employees. You will also provide technical and problem solving advice to other EEG Technologists.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
