Join Alberta Health Services (AHS) and become part of a dedicated Nutrition Services team serving the residents of beautiful Northern Alberta. As a Grande Prairie Outpatient Dietitian, you will provide comprehensive nutrition assessments, develop and implement nutrition care plans, and deliver counselling and education to support patients in achieving their health goals. Through collaboration with individuals, families, community groups, and healthcare teams, you will play a key role in supporting disease prevention, chronic disease management, and recovery from illness and surgery. This position requires strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. You will use evidence-based nutrition care practices to empower patients, advocate for their needs, and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care across a variety of settings. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients, clients and residents in a variety of health care and community settings to support positive nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and deliver public health nutrition services and education programs that promote healthy living and disease prevention for individuals and groups in facility and community settings. You will also provide nutrition education to students and other health care professionals to support the delivery of evidence based nutrition information.
Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligibility for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
The successful candidate will demonstrate a Patient First philosophy; be comfortable working with seniors and their families; be able to support both adult and pediatric patients; and have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
