As a Diagnostic Sonographer II, you’ll oversee daily operations in the service area, coordinating technical activities and supporting a team of Sonographers and healthcare providers to ensure optimal ultrasound services. You’ll manage patient and staff concerns, maintain quality assurance programs, assist with research and program development, and help create policies, procedures, and guidelines. As a Diagnostic Sonographer II, you will coordinate the daily operations of the service area. This includes organizing and coordinating all technical and daily work activities for your team of Diagnostic Sonographer Is and other health care providers, ensuring that ultrasound services are available and operating at an optimum level. In addition, you will handle patient and staff complaints and problems related to services, maintain quality assurance and quality control programs for the area, assist in research, development, maintenance and evaluation of Sonography programs and services and assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.
Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
