The Academic Medicine Health Services Program (AMHSP) is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of various AMHSP programs and initiatives for Alberta Health Services (AHS). AMHSP offer alternatives to the traditional fee for service physician compensation model and support physicians in taking an innovative approach to the delivery of health care. This position attends to the accountability needs of the Departments of Clinical Neurosciences and Psychiatry and back up support for the Departments of Surgery, Anesthesia and Obstetrics and Gynecology, Calgary Zone. The Coordinator- Senior Analyst supports both the academic and clinical sections of the five Departments and is responsible for the day-to-day management of all contractual aspects within each Department (AHS and UofC). This position is responsible for entering, compiling and processing for physician’s clinical, administrative, research and educational activities through the Departments’ AMHSP. The incumbent is also responsible for generating accountability reports for physicians, developing and maintaining databases to track physician activities for all AMHSP and non-AMHSP physicians routinely and as per request. The Senior Analyst ensures continuation of data/information flow and develops comprehensive requirement documents detailing required data, functions, processes and general performance metrics to be incorporated within the scope of the defined solution.

The Senior Program Analyst - AMHSP is responsible for the development, implementation and expansion of strategic systems to link contractual obligations of AMHSP physician members to their accountabilities and actual performance, thereby facilitating improved accountabilities for all members in each Department. This position also provides consultation to various stakeholders in consideration of the AMHSP's mandate to support the mission of the Departments. The Senior Program Analyst uses quality control tools to implement data, process control, quality monitoring to design and lead process improvement initiative projects. Develop and manage accountability frameworks for each Section to ensure appropriate valid and reproducible data is available to support the accountability of physician members for services provided in all acute centers in Calgary. Support the work of the Management Committee by producing statistical reports. Responsible for maintaining specific section databases. Responsible for tracking/processing clinical data information in this field. Responsible for compiling AMHSP annual reports for all departments.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline. A minimum of three years' related experience in progressively responsible analytical role. Proficient in analytical, statistical and reporting software and applications (i.e. MS Excel, MS Access, Connect Care, SPSS, Tableau) with strong attention to detail. Ability to perform strategically and systematically. A strong commitment to operating independently and within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and solve problems with minimum supervision. Must be able to work comfortably in fast paced environment with great time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Work with minimum supervision and ability to meet deadlines. A strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications and data analysis software.

Masters level education in a related discipline (Business Administration, Public Health, and Health Information). Experience in a healthcare environment. Strong working knowledge of advanced MS Excel skills, oracle & hyperion applications.
