Description
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a highly organized and motivated Project Coordinator II. In this role, you will support projects and initiatives that are managed by the Alberta Health Services Cybersecurity Program. These projects and initiatives engage numerous IT operational teams and business stakeholders to support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of AHS information and technology-based systems. You will work closely with IT operational teams and business stakeholders across the organization to coordinate and support projects that align with AHS standards, policies, and strategic goals. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and maintain a high level of attention to detail will be key to your success. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support cybersecurity projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with program goals and timelines Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to influence solutions and support planning and implementation Monitor and maintain project budgets, prepare procurement documentation, and manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and reporting Lead or support small-scale projects, facilitate meetings, document decisions and action items Track project progress, analyze performance metrics, and prepare reports and briefings for leaders and stakeholders Support risk and issue management processes, including identification, escalation, and resolution Contribute to the development of project documentation, including business cases, project charters, RFPs, training materials, and technical specifications
As a Coordinator II, you will require advanced or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex projects, procedures, practices or initiatives within a department, program or business unit.
Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Information Technology, project coordination, data analysis, and stakeholder management Proficiency in project management tools and software (Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, SharePoint) Excellent coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities independently and work under tight deadlines Experience with forecasting, planning and developing schedules Understanding of project management principles, tools, and methodologies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills Proven ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, interpret needs, and share information effectively with stakeholders at all levels Experience with budgeting, procurement, and administrative processes related to project delivery
Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices, with hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives or projects Knowledge of IT functional areas Exposure to Microsoft Technologies and productivity tools, including Teams Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables and lookups) and project reporting tools Healthcare knowledge and experience
