Description
Join our team as the Home Care Manager for High Prairie and McLennan and embark on a rewarding journey of providing exceptional care to our community. Reporting to the area 6 seniors health manager, you will be in a crucial role supporting home care and you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of our clients while gaining valuable experience in a leadership position. You will lead and manage a dedicated team of individuals, drive the achievements and goals of the Home Care departments, and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders. By facilitating change and promoting team development, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our healthcare services. You will actively engage in client care, addressing concerns and participating in planning discussions. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners. Please note that this is a position that will require travelling between McLennan and High Prairie on a regular basis.
Active registration with applicable Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in clinical practice required and within the last three (3) in a leadership role. Previous experience in Continuing Care/ Home Care required.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, community agencies, professional colleagues, volunteers, and the community. Evidence of strong commitment to excellence in patient care and Continuing Care accountabilities. Ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment.
Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice will be considered. Equivalences of education and experience may be considered.
