Description
Would you enjoy leading a team in a fast paced, complex, change-oriented environment that is integral in supporting the delivery of imaging services in the Edmonton Zone? We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Supervisor for our EZ DI Central Scheduling Team! This position is accountable to the Manager of Central Scheduling to oversee the day-to-day provision of Diagnostic Imaging scheduling services within the Edmonton Zone. As the Central Scheduling Supervisor, you’ll provide critical expertise in the daily operations of the scheduling team by providing direction and support to clerks, monitoring workloads & determining clerk duties in collaboration with the Manager. You will support the scheduling team in meeting scheduling and waitlist targets, ensuring scheduling best practices are followed, and other supervisory duties as applicable. This position will be responsible to liaise with radiologists, physicians’ offices, diagnostic imaging departments, and other hospital departments to address scheduling needs while following provincial scheduling guidelines to ensure that patient exams are scheduled appropriately. The Supervisor will act as a mentor for peers and will actively promote and facilitate a positive environment in the workplace by fostering a team attitude of acceptance and tolerance. The Supervisor will also help to maintain cohesion within the team by utilizing proven conflict resolution skills. The successful applicant in this position will have opportunities to participate in developing standards, processes, workflows, and resources for scheduling staff in the Edmonton Zone. This position will participate in data collection and tracking, perform other clerical functions including recruitment, word processing, and other administrative duties as needed.
As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Medical Office Administration Certification with Medical Terminology Certification required. Minimum of three (3) years recent Diagnostic Imaging experience is required with an understanding of Diagnostic Imaging scheduling processes. Minimum three (3) years previous supervisory in a large office setting - applying leadership skills including delegating, prioritizing, decision making, mentoring, coaching, teaching and engagement. Minimum of five (5) years medical office experience Word Processing experience with MS Office Suite required Must be cognizant of all legal regulations and AHS Policies as they apply to Diagnostic Imaging (for example, HIA, ATIA, and POPA). Strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to work in a very demanding and busy environment, while organizing and prioritizing tasks, and adapting to changing circumstances and interruptions Ability to work independently, assume responsibility and to foster an environment that promotes teamwork. Must have excellent interpersonal and public relation skills, strong oral and written communication skills Must be able to consistently produce a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency. Evidence of continued personal and professional development.
Thorough knowledge of the applicable collective agreements. Timekeeping experience and training. Experience with an imaging archive (PAC's system). Minimum one (1) year scheduling experience with Connect Care.
