Description
In this position, you will provide senior administrative support to Department Leadership in the Department of Pediatrics, Alberta Children’s Hospital in the Calgary Zone. The portfolios cover all aspects of the department including Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and Academic. Candidates should have a full understanding of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary as well as a comprehensive understanding of academic medicine in order to function effectively. This individual represents the Department and as a result, you should be self-directed in resolving issues and professionalism is paramount in representing the Department to internal and external stakeholders. You will be required to work independently and within a team environment. As a team player, you may be required to assist in other areas as needed. Daily work activities are varied and diverse and will involve communication and collaboration with several team members in order to organize and maintain schedules and achieve objectives while under pressure to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities, and sometimes short deadlines. Only those individuals who meet the requirements and qualifications will be contacted. Current Hybrid Work Arrangement - 4 days onsite/1 day remote per week.
As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
3 years of full-time experience in progressive administrative levels. Previous experience with AHS RMS (recruitment systems) and e-People payroll experience - 1 year or equivalent HR and payroll experience externally. Previous experience with database management and website management. Attention to detail. Strong communication skills. Minimum intermediate/advanced competency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
5 years of full-time experience in progressive administrative levels in a healthcare setting or equivalent senior administrative experience supporting Senior Leaders will be considered. Previous experience managing multiple calendars, taking minutes, creating agendas. Previous financial experience - including expense reconciliation and managing expenses. Previous experience with U of C processes including Research administration.
